Thanks Matt, I was hoping that someone at the sharp end would clear up the speculation. I think it was you who told me the climb up the Mhuidhe was the biggest challenge on the line.

I knew I could come on here to find out what happened ;) Sanders were tested and all ok on shed, dried out before starting out from Glenfinnan and then when stuck on the hill in filthy weather conditions they were checked and no longer working....

There seems to be a lot of misinformation on here about the running of the Jacobite. The reason for normally having the engine facing west is so the passengers can get some proper pictures of it at Fort William, its off the end of the platform at...

Has it been suggested/confirmed that the sanders were defective prior to departure, became during the progress of the train and/or they ran out of sand on route???? Sure Mr Riley who I believe still uses this forum (Dog only knows why) will be...

A pretty scummy way of painting all their dedicated, hard working and professional staff as cowboys. Writing on this forum like this must make you feel really big and important.

Having read Mr Woolmar (a legend in his own mind IMHO) it seems to push the view that WCRC is a cowboy company whereas I feel that WCRC is a company prepared to challenge boundaries - especially when they keep being extended. In the specific case...

You would be banning plenty of other TOCs and FOCs if that attitude was allowed to persist. Rail accidents / incidents that have been down to TOC / FOC error are not something that lies with WCR only. Look at the pulling down coal on 70000 on the...

I suspect not or Northern would have been booted off the system during the time they were using Class 37's on the Cumbrian Coast. The glee anything negative regarding WCR happens is reaching a level possibly beyond turkeys voting for Christmas...

Cannot remember when it was due to start, but I doubt they have lost many more or (or even as many) days of service to passengers then the big railway has caused their passengers to suffer over the past 18 months, on what one might argue is an...

Yes I forgot the tour was run for your benefit as a photter. I also forget you’ve paid £4000 to WCRC/RYTC to phot this tour. Annoys me just as much as enthusiasts coming to phot at an SVR gala and then moan when it’s a wrong loco/coach combo....

You can't tell if a loco is pulling or a diesel is pushing when you've paid to be in for the experience of the food and travel etc I'm sure WRC and/or any other company will be sad to not see you standing out for free to photo an expensive tour
