    Dear Reader,
Firstly, can we thank you for your continued support with Railway Herald. We are only a small independent team, with no major publisher behind us. and many hours work each week goes into producing the title. As you will be aware the magazine was on Editorial Break last week, with Issue 503 to be published 25th May.

Unfortunately, after a weekend of feeling very unwell, your Editor twice collapsed a week last Monday, resulting in the attendance of Paramedics and a subsequent short-stay in hospital. While thankfully, the diagnosis was not serious and Richard is now making a steady recovery at home, the progress has not been quick enough to return to work as planned on 19th May to write, compile and design this week's magazine. As a result, we regret to advise that Issue 503 has been postponed for seven days, and will now be published on 1st June.

We accept that this will be a disappointment to many readers who constantly tell us that they enjoy and look forward to the edition each week. It is as much a disappointment to both Richard and the entire team, and having just past the 500 issues milestone, it will be the first time in over 11 years that ill-health will have prevented publication. It is not the reliable, professional outcome that we pride ourselves on, or want to see, but we hope and encourage all readers to understand the unexpected situation that we are in. Obviously, as subscriptions are based on a specific number of issues, rather than calendar months, there is no negative effect to any subscription.

We thank you, in advance, for your patience and understanding at this time, and would reassure you that we fully expect to be back to our normal weekly publication from 1st June.

    With regards,
    RH Editorial Team
