How is the 14 coach special going to operate now ? Obviously there's no spare class 8 to take the S160's place, so could we see a double header on the southbound run which is able to pull the whole train ?

That's really bad luck! We seem to have had more than our fair share his time round :( ah well, hopefully means all will go perfectly next year for our first Broadway gala. *jinx!*

The GWR 813 Funds Sale stand will be at Toddington.
Lots of excellent books,DVDs and other delights for sale. All profit goes towards the locomotive and the 100 or so wagons!

2807? 4270? - enough power from either of those with ease with no real hills to climb.

2807 would be good on the other end! But both are facing the wrong way :/ The manor would sound awesome though! :)

All trains running from toddington towards broadway will go to the new stop board at little buckland which is approx 3 3/4 miles from Toddington. Apart from the auto , there will be three passenger trains up the extrnsion top and tailed.

At the moment the favoured motive power is the hall single headed. BUT this may change. The hall faces Cheltenham and so should look good. 35006 still rostered for the north end. 2807 or 4370 would have been nice but do face comets so would be going backwards to Cheltenham.

2807 and 4270 would handle it with ease.

I have finally worked out how to edit the main GWSR website... rebuilding a full size steam loco from Barry condition is easier... you can find the answer to this question and more by following this link: https://www.gwsr.com/userfiles/docu...ts/2017_A4_Timetable_for_web_with_numbers.pdf

Is there a separate ticket for the 14 coach special or is it included in the day rover ticket? I am doing the after 3pm ticket.

Whats the parking like at Toddington??
I know they ask you to use the Cheltenham Racecourse Station but Toddington is more practical for me.

Still pretty good, we've got a nice big field on P2 side which will fill up with no overspill available, but as long as you don't have too much of a leisurely start it should be fine. :)

Field is looking good, it was cut this afternoon. We do have use of the overflow field as well, although we always say that Cheltenham race course has ample parking at any time.

The one time that I parked at CRC for the GWSR Cotswold Festival of Steam (2014 IIRC), some incompetent thoughtless idiot blocked me in and I ended up waiting for two hours for their return. When he and his party did eventually turn up, the numpty had the gall to claim that he had parked his vehicle where the GWSR attendant had told him to leave it. I have never had any problem at all (touch wood...) parking in the field at Toddington, and that will be where I'll be leaving the car this year.

Personally, I prefer to park at Toddington, as the timetable starts and ends at Toddington and, if you want to travel on the evening train in both directions, you have to park there.

Saturday tends to be busiest, other than that, depends on the weather really. Hope the small person enjoyed themselves! :) A visit to GWR175 when I was 10 indirectly led me to start volunteering there 3 years later!

Many thanks we shall visit on Monday. Elizabeth at 3 1/2 is mad keen on steam locomotives (and thinks most diesels are sneaky)! Her favourite locomotive is princess Elizabeth for obvious reasons, and she will pick it out in a book or magazine. Although she has a soft spot for a black manor!
