    CALLING ALL THUNDERBIRD FANS!! 4 Virgin Trains Class 57/3 nameplates will be up for auction at the Crewe Heritage Centre with all proceeds going towards rededicating a WW1 Memorial at Manchester Piccadilly and some going towards local charities. The auction will start at approximately 12 noon and should last just over a hour. The auction will be made up of about 30/35 lots including worksplates, signs, flame cuts and other nameplates, a full list of which is still to be confirmed however the Virgin Trains nameplates for auction will be:

    An alloy Diesel Nameplate “Firefly” complete with its “International Rescue” Badge ex 57 314 the locomotive was named on 25/10/2004 after characters in the popular 1960s television series. The Nameplates were removed 31/01/2009 and are in very good ex loco condition. Very few Thunderbird plates have come onto the market and this offers a chance to acquire one of these.
    A BR Double Arrow in ex loco condition.
    A collection of four BR D shaped Wagon plates.
    A BR Rail Gauge complete with Spirit Level in very good condition.
    A presentation alloy Nameplate “Lanarkshire Voyager” as would have been fitted to 220 012, the plate is mounted on a wood board with presentation plate.
    A BR 1970’s Double Royal Poster “See a Friend this Weekend” featuring a Girl & Dog on the platform.
