A few days ago British Pathe loaded several thousand videos to their Youtube channel, including this of the A4 when it was originally sent to Canada in 1963

These are the railway ones on there - https://www.youtube.com/user/britishpathe/search?query=railways

It was good to see them over here, and it has saved me (and countless others) the expense and admin stress of going across the pond to see them, but when all's said and done, it wasn't going to last forever. There's also Bulleid 'Light Pacific' 70 next year, so let's hope there's at least something to mark that. Maybe a gala with five Bulleids invloved? SLL are looking to get 3 BBs together on the Swanage, so hopefully, they'll decide to push the boat out and get another one or two in to make it (possibly) a record number of Bulleids in steam at the same time on a single railway. Coal bill would be pretty hefty, but it would be one of those potential 'bucket list' events. Furthermore, I would be in...

Great idea - how many WC/BBs will be in ticket next year?

    In numerical order, I should think: 34007; 34027; 34046; 34053; 34067 (doubt it would be available though); 34070; 34072; 34081; 34092; 34101.

Outside chances are: 34059 and 34105.

In displayable static condition: 34028; 34051.

In 'late 1960s' static condition: 34016.

Could next year see a record number of Bulleids in steam?

Enough bulleid boxes there to rival a container terminal.

Could we have another Eastleigh open day for them? Would need somewhere that big to display 'em all! Maybe that's how to get 34067 involved, stick it on a railtour from London.

Throw in the operational/cosmetically tidy USA tanks, the Q1, the Class 12 shunter, and whichever RHDR loco it is that has the Bulleid-designed tender and you'd have one heck of an event.

What about 34039 Boscastle is it still on the Great Central line.

Yes, but its overhaul has gone a bit quiet of late. I think the motion and frames are substantially complete.

How come a thread entitled "Dominion of Canada being shipped" turns into yet another discussion of Bulleid pacifics?! Much as I love them, don't they have enough threads of the their own? (Obviously not....)

I think you answered your own question there! It has to be said that my reason for starting the tangential link was the prospect of discussing potential future large gatherings of locomotive classes. Just to satisfy the remit of this thread, an interesting find of archive footage of 60010's departure.
