That farmer is or was perfectly reasonable if one has the courtesy to ask his permission.
There was an issue with methane as it was a tip and when he gave me permission to record there he requested that we did not smoke.
    People like to be asked!

    Cheers Dave

As per my earlier post, even when permission was asked for and given, the other brother in the farm would come and turf people off the track. His attitude was basically "I don't care what my brother said, I'm asking you to leave" but not so polite.

I was also there that day (nice clag and nice light). I'm not sure if it was on the same occasion but I remember one of the family drove up the lane shortly before a steam charter was due and parked in front of the gallery of photographers. After a short while I approached him and explained that I had earlier asked permission to be there. Another guy told him that he had bought eggs from the family. The driver of the vehicle told me that it would be the last season that anyone would be allowed to stand in the lane and eventually drove away. There's nowt so strange as folk. <BJ>

Re Bishopston - it used to be an excellent spot, and there was no problem with access - then, as others have said, it all changed, and I was told by some fotters it was best to keep away

Today, it was was dull and overcast in Oxfordshire as "Braunton" came through - http://cliffjones.zenfolio.com/p768025838

I watched it come through Stratford Parkway. Not spectacular as coasting down the hill but a good view as the line curves. Might be a good spot for its return so long as a down does not block the shot. There appears not to be a clash.

Seemed to take ages to get to Parkway but going well when it did arive. Droped 3 to Wilmcote so probably a cautious start - it was drizzling.

Interesting that on 13th the loco ran to Tyseley, but not on today's trip. Less time available today, but on the other hand one would expect more servicing to be needed because of the longer distance.

Had a fabulous arty, moody dramatic clip all lined up at Grateley, and then a box appeared out of the mist. Still never mind, got Braunton working well off the stop at Chippenham, and watch it bounce over the soggy track bed crossing at Tackley.

Could be to do with the triangle at Hatton being workable or not, seems there's now a new LM service to Stratford via Solihull which uses the north side of the triangle and occupies the single line between Hatton and Bearley which hasn't in previous years, add to that you have to back up to Dorridge in among all the mainline traffic to crossover, I can well believe via the North Warwick to Tyseley would be easier in some circumstances.

I was lucky Matt. I was at the Foot crossing just below you. It started raining only seconds after she passed! Good job she was 15 early otherwise I would have had nothing!

My efforts from Black Bridge at Whitnash, Hatton North and Bishops Itchington foot crossing can be found at...............

Nicely caught Rick, I thought it may have been your car I passed.

Superb showing from Braunton today, especially on the climb up Wilmcote Bank in the rain ! Had a slippery departure out of Stratford so i'm told, so even more pleased with the run through the station. Video to follow.

Filmed at Kings Sutton and Hatton (Dark Lane) on the outward leg and Wilmcote on the return. Also a short clip on her own at Hatton station.
