On WNXX news, we may again see a Western on a stone train (albeit off their old haunts)!
The plan is for D1015 to join GBRf on the 30th for training then to be tested, with a Class 66 inside, on the 6D02 Wellingborough to Mountsorrel working on November 1st. Use of D1015 after that depends on the outcome of the 6D02 trials.

Not quite; in the late 1970s Westerns working the Westbury - Leagrave stone train used to arrive via Bletchley and Bedford Midland before trundling down the MML; the return journey was via Cricklewood and Acton.

I have heard reports that the run may be on a later date as there are suggestions that D1015 will be visiting Washwood Heath beforehand.
