I would like to come if possible but am not keen on driving all the way from London for a meeting lasting just a few hours, and Butterley doesn't look to be readily accessible by public transport. Where might a lift be provided from? Maybe Derby off the 10:23 arrival from SPX?

Yeah it was a typo. I meant 10002 but my sleepy head got mixed up with it being the third one

There are two people offering lifts from Derby. I've asked them to contact you here. Alternatively please talk to them directly via https://www.facebook.com/groups/LMS10000/#

Hi chaps. Just pointing out if a charity is wound up any money left has to go to a similar charity, not refunds. This is the law and cannot be altered

Is there any news of either future plans or future prospects for the group which seems to have been in limbo for some time.

Nice to see there's still interest in this project, which l would love to succeed even though I never saw them in service.
There was an article on PR house mag shortly after the "launch".
From memory,it would look and sound like the original ,hence the purchase of EE 16 stv engine, but using chassis, alternator, traction motors and control system from the donor 58 which is at Rowsley.
They have acquired some suitable bogies(class 76???).
All fine and dandy on paper, but as article stated, depends on sufficient funding/manpower.(Have they paid Mr Waterman for the 58 yet)
The acid test will be the turnout for this proposed meeting.
Regarding an earlier post re the CO BO.
Its apparently back on its now overhauled bogies,so progress is being made.

The 58 came from Waterman? I thought that they bought it in a DB tender sale?

Unless Mr Waterman loaned them the cash to purchase it, a bit like Mr Swallow has put up the money for the 50 alliance to purchase 50007?

Did the planned visit to Rowsley take place last Sunday?

Visit took place generally constructive. Just to clarify 58 purchased off DBS. Mr Waterman has not shown any interest in the project, and has no association. That's not to say he wouldn't be welcome as a member!

Is there any news from the GM of the society - especially future plans that might encourage membership / membership renewals ?

Apologies Keith - I thought the AGM was last weekend; my current health problems have made it difficult to keep up to date. I would appreciate news of progress from anyone who attends the meeting.

I will write a summary of the AGM for those unable to attend. I'm sure other people will too.

Thank you - as an early member of the original scheme I would welcome news especially if it encourages membership renewal.
