I note that 98818 has been allocated to train 5m50 at 06:30 this morning but nothing shows on RTT; is the test train a runner ?

5M50 runs "if required" Tuesday to Friday.

    Schedule Information
    • WTT schedule UID P90398, identity 5M50
    • Runs MSSuX between 13/12/2016 to 10/11/2017
    • Service code 22244008
    • Empty Coaching Stock
    Operational Information
    • Schedule from ITPS
    • Timed for 60mph max
    • Diesel locomotive, trailing load 420 tonnes
    • Runs as required
But there isn't any reason why it couldn't be requested as a VSTP schedule on Monday....

Any idea what is working -

Thanks for the answer to 5Z13.

Interesting about 98818, but with my now rusty knowledge of TOPS I think it has been allocated to 5M50 on the 17th. Clerical error for the 19th or a deliberate ploy by WCRC? ( But then, can a loco be allocated to a train which hasn't been "called" in TOPS?)

Sorry, more questions than answers again.
    Cheers, Neil

It might be worth checking other recent lists from whatever source you have? On the TOPS lists I have access to, it has been showing allocated to 5M50 every day since it did it's last run round the circuit on August 17th!

On RTT it has the addendum, 'Runs as required: this service only runs when it is required. This warning will disappear if it is activated in the railway computer systems.'

In fairness I haven't been checking the TOPS listing every day hence may have missed the "continuity" aspect of its non-disappearance.

Thought it may have had heritage implications but another source has told me that it was probably driver training/route familiarisation.

I expected that you hadn't, or you probably wouldn't have asked the question. I just thought it might be worth checking back a day or two if you have lists to hand, just in case my sources lists are incorrect (or have been deliberately doctored as some people do as a means to see if they are being re-posted elsewhere).

Probably a Class 222 as it was timed for a 125mph Diesel Multiple Unit operated by East Midlands Trains
