She looked very nice in the Blue livery.
I can't see that this livery fits in with the lottery grant they had though.

I don’t mind which livery 35005 runs in. For me I just want to see it running again. According to the flyer they are looking for people to donate towards a new chimney and petticoat. Which will coast around £3000.00

Even I deigned to drag out the evil tripod on Saturday night, not sure about a dirty word, but it certainly had dirty feet from the conditions underfoot in the yard. :)
Can we have Light Blue with Red bands? :Bag:

Didn't see the flyer with my copy.... 35005 in green, but 34007 in blue please!!! I do have a Hornby model of 35005 in blue, with the box signed by Andrew Naish

The Blue version of 35005 was the only Hornby model I ever bought. The livery suited her very well. It also seemed to be a lucky colour for her too. She put in some stunning performances on the Main Line whilst carrying the BR Experimental lined Blue. I remember being on one of the MHR Daylight Railtours to the WSR. We were sitting at Norton Fitzwarren waiting to get back out on to the Main Line when a Bulleid whistle could be heard in the distance. Then round the bend from Tiverton swept 35005 on a Tyseley excursion returning from the West Country. She absolutely hammered past the Green Train, whistle wide open, leaving most of the passengers gasping. A stunning vision in Blue that I have never forgotten.

Black lined with light straw and red with "Mid-Hants Railway" in Gold Sans Serif lettering on the tender and the Hampshire rose underneath.

If it was decided to change the policy and run her on the mainline again, I would happily dig deeply into my pockets but to trundle up and down a preserved line, not a chance.

How deep are your pockets? Anything is possible if sufficient £s are made available. £250,000 should cover it nicely. Please send the cheque (or postal order) to The Station, Alresford. ;)

Unfortunately, not quite deep enough to do it on my own.

Put me down as another fan of 35005 in BR Express Blue. I too have the Hornby model although sadly it is in a sorry state.

I don't think I saw 35005 in Blue but have done a couple of times since the MHR bought her.

Will 35005 have a different tender this time out? The picture in my mind of previous running was the tender seemed smaller than a MN? Apols if wrong.
Quarter of a century next year since my only turn on CP whilst at ELR. Where does the time go?

The first time she came to the MHR in BR Blue in the 1990's she was due to appear at a Pacific weekend with 60007. Both loco's were in the BR Experimental lined Blue. 35005 failed early on during the event. I remember her sounding pretty sick with her timing well off. IIRC she was withdrawn after this event and went to Tyseley for overhaul to ML condition and reappeared in BR Blue on Tyseley excursions.

I have a DVD on CanPac which refers to her going from the GCR where the loco was repainted, then to the MHR and on to Tyseley, where she began her mainline career. I visited the MHR a few times in the late 90's (my first visit was 98) and early 00's but don't recall seeing 35005 in blue sadly.

Couple of snaps of Canpac. 2 on the mainline (one in blue) and one on the MHR. Looks good in either?

Green. It has to be green! It's got nothing to do with paint froth as I like BR Blue, but not on a Re-built packet. Maybe when 35011 is up and running, the idea can be muted again. Now that would look the business!

Maybe so, but in the case of 21C11/35011, there's "green" and then there's "green" (as well as blue)!

Agreed and like Tornado, I'm sure the prospect of running a streamlined packet in all its livery variants appeals to the majority!
