As a dual braked loco fitted with TPWS and OTMR, 70000 will take rather more "plumbing back together" than is traditional, but hopefully may appear in some role on Friday! The hassle of splitting/joining the tender from/to a loco with all the modern "gubbins" is why you will probably never see 60007 on a low loader again.

So that explains why i've never seen an A4 on a low-loader before.

I've looked back, no one seams to have asked yet - which way does everything face, south to Pickering we hope?

Everything is facing south apart from 825 and 80072 I think.

45407 also faced North today before its departure to Crewe tomorrow. She eased up the bank in rain with 7 on. Mindst you so did No19 with 6, mainly Teak.

Had a wonderful 8 hours today mostly behind 3 Loco's even saw Britannia in steam early on, on the back of the 9.00am from Pickering.

As far as I am aware, after 45407 (and 44871) head off for their Welsh jolly in the morning, only 80072 is facing north and that may get turned back as it was turned for a photo charter.

80072 seemed to be sat in the back of the running shed at Grosmont yesterday when i saw it.

Good visit today, shame that 70000 failed after its first trip.

4464 0930 ex Grosmont banked by 69023 to Goathland to collect freight.

80072 1020 ex Levisham, very good trip, sailed up Newtondale.

    92214 1130 ex Grosmont, left 14 late.

70000 1220 ex Levisham, train pretty much full and standing which was good to see, it was 1333 by then time 75029 set off for Whitby having done the ground frame procedure.

    80072 1330 ex Grosmont & 92214 1350 ex Goathland.

9F replaced 70000 on 1430, which was reported to have failed on the water column at the end of the tunnel with brake problems.

Visit to the shed found 825 and 63395 both in steam, but not in service today.

75029 did an additional 1530 to Goathland with the set that would have finished at 1405, presume this was due to late running; this set appeared with the 1800 ex Whitby so now know that the 1500 ex Pickering connected into this service at Goathland perhaps?

The 1505 arrived just before 1530 with 69023 on the back to save a light engine move.

4464 left at 1552 for Pickering, got back 23 late.

80072/92214 in Pickering tonight, with 70000 fixed and preparing for pullman.

Whitby trains were certainly the busiest and it was good to have hot bacon rolls on the go on board the gresley buffet.

All trains were 6 coaches; except the maroon Whitby set which is 7 including a PC brake coach I think from memory.

Steam heat was "hit and miss", on the various sets, not sure if all locos connected up today?

Hope that 63395 and SNG can join in for next weekend.

Many thanks to all involved, roll on Friday for next visit.
