Can anyone tell me roughly when services usually start and finish on the Thursday preview day? The last one being almost two years ago makes it difficult to find info on.

Hmm. Nice to see a bit of imagination in the timetable, although tough luck if you get stuck at Bridgnorth...some massive gaps between services at the northern end.

Usually tends to be a rake of 8 split into 2 rakes of 4.

It depends on the WTT. In 2013 and 2014, a two coach local set was added to an eight coach set then divided in half to form two, five coach overnight sets. In 2015 to stop people using compartments as beds the Greseley set was used in two halves overnight as two, four coach sets and then used as a full take on Sunday.
However this year going by the public timetable it's looking as if two of the local sets used during the day will be used overnight which could be of any length. We'll have to wait for the WTT to be released to know what the plan is.

I've known the Gresley set used a few times to be fair.

I think that was the plan in 2011 with a certain 0-6-0...

6023 would love that. Was very impressed with how smooth the King was operating on the le moves this weekend.

And yes Caley 828 did put on quite a show back in 2011.

True but sundays have a poorer public transport alternative, so might (sadly) dent the figures for sunday.
