    Hi all,

I've tried clicking the 'create event' rather than 'create post' icon for this thread, so let's see how it goes!

We're hold our annual Mail by Rail event at the NVR over the 13th/14th July.

The service will be mixed steam and diesel with 73050 City of Peterborough and 31118 out over the weekend.

As well as TPO mail drops at Sutton Cross, we will also being bringing together one of the largest and most diverse collection of road and rail based postal vehicles for the weekend.

A large collection of vehicles from the Post Office Vehicle Club will be on display at Wansford (Predominantly on Saturday).

We have recently taken delivery of a unit from the London Underground Post Office Railway and a road based mobile Post Office both of which will be on display.

(Obviously all events, items, displays, vehicles etc subject to availability).

For more information, you can visit http://www.nvr.org.uk/rail-mail or http://www.nightmail.org.uk/

Will this event be following in the footsteps of the Great Central and demostrate driving engines off the end of the line via a set of trap points:eek::oops:?

We'll try our best to keep the railway vehicles and road vehicles separate!

Just a quick one to say that due to operational reasons, all attractions will now be at Wansford rather than split between Wansford and Ferry Meadows. Unfortunately GNR TPO 2178 will no longer be appearing.

Two good bits of news for the weekend.

The timetable is now up at www.nightmail.org.uk/railmail

And we're planning on having a barrel of real ale in a marquee at Wansford near the vehicle display
