[Jul 20, 2018] Real Ale Weekend (Epping Ongar Railway)

Can't believe I have forgotten to post this here! Real Ale returns to North Weald 20-22nd July this year.

With a theme of the end of steam in 1968, our 6th Real Ale Festival will be held in association with the Campaign for Real Ale for the first time.

The event has grown over the years and we expect this trend to continue - expect more beers, lots of trains and more fun in 2018!

With up to 75 Real Ales (including, this year, some from the North West of England as well as our usual selection from around Essex and London) and 20 ciders, our bars will be open from 12.00 each day with late closing on Friday and Saturday. As well as the main marquee we plan to have bars with at least 10 real ales onboard the trains which will continue to run until closing time.

Steam and Diesel trains will be in operation and your ticket is valid for unlimited travel.

Loco roster is to be published but I have requested Hunslet Austerity Lord Phil, Class 20 D8001, Class 37 37029 so very much a green engine weekend !

On the bus from there is some news too - for the first time there'll be a connection between Harlow Town BR and North Weald, along with the usual regular buses to Epping & Shenfield.

Catering is enhanced this year with Hopleaf providing a range of hot meals alongside the usual EOR catering operation.
