Reprival Of Wey Arun Valley Railway

It is aimed to gather a group of dedicated people to help revive Wey and Arun Valley Railway with organised walk of the route of the old Horsham & Guildford Direct Railway, closed in 1965, beginning near Peasmarsh Junction (on the Portsmouth main line). We will start at Artington Park & Ride on the A3100 Guildford-Godalming road, where extensive car-parking is available and buses from central Guildford are frequent. We will walk the route as far as time and energy allow. The furthest we will go is where the path leaves the old railway formation roughly half a mile short of Christ's Hospital: the route beyond Christ's Hospital to Shoreham is littered with obstacles and will not be contemplated for some years.
