50026 Indomitable

Confirmed by the owner and SVR diesel people on WNXX that 50026 is going to the Valley for the summer diesel turns while work's ongoing on 50031/35/44/49.

Arived SVR Wednesday. Safely tucked up in Kidderminster diesel depot.

 

And it is in use this coming week on the timetable A turn, and is probably in use over the bank holiday weekend as it's due to be a class 50 and 50026 is the only working one on the line atm.

 

I saw this loco, outside Eastleigh works this morning, is she under going maintaince or just going in for storage?

 

Reported on WNxx that 50026 is heading north to Weardale to work on Polar Express services.

 

She's in Taunton right now, heading to okehampton later

50026 look nice in revised NSE livery. Just a shame it wasn't in original NSE livery which it had up to withdrawal from BR service. Don't see the point in putting a loco in to a livery it wasn't ever in.

My best ever diesel trip was behind this at the 2014 SVR diesel gala on the last train from Kiddie to Bridge and back. It was so loud from the middle window of the first coach that the man opposite me was screwing up his eyes and kept on having to pull his head in. I can only describe it as frightening!
