After finding footage I thought was lost of 6233 in Crimson lake I put together a video of the three colours 6233 has been in to see what folk think she looks best in .

Seconded as it's already carried all the others and would look good in blue with some blood and custards.

Don't predict this thread ending well however...

BR Green but wouldnt mind BR Blue as a change. I think the A1 trust have the right idea a new livery every few years, it sort of keeps everyone happy but still dosn't stop the moaners in the armchairs though!

No-one suggesting BR lined black? I thought that was compulsory round here...

If she belonged to me and I had sqillions of pounds she would have a term in green, then one in blue, followed by maroon.....with a few identity changes thrown in for good measure!

But, she isn't mine so I will accept her in whatever livery her owners think is best........ and I'll still drool.:)

Don't waste your time wafling about this one. Nowt to do with me, but there won't be any vote next time round ... contrary to what many may like to see, it's all already been decided by others!

    spoil sport.

I was already thinking BR Blue, double arrows, tops number and in line with German practice for safety... red wheels.

The only one I want to see in Red is a certain 6229 be even nicer with some form of matching stock. As regards 6201, 46203 and 46233 is there any chance of some sort of livery rotation? I'd love to see Lizzie in Green or Blue, just for the simple reason I think it looks a tad boring in the same old Red. I do wonder if Leander'll reignite some intrest in it now its had a new (and different) coat of paint?

Unlike some companies pacifics, the coronations don't need a particular colour scheme to look good. I've only seen in person the crimson lake (that i can remember) and that was incredible, photos really don't do it justice, the black in photos and videos looks brilliant. The green is less appealing but the loco still manages to show it's looks, it just screams an iron fist in a silk glove.

'An iron fist in a silk glove' Maddog you've most definitley put it way better than I could. They're big and brutish but they do have the most wonderful elegance to them.

I'm probably in a minority here, but unlike a lot of engines - I think the BR green suits her the best..there is something about the size of a coronation coupled with the green livery that makes it very smart and business like

Blue, no no no no and a thousand times No.

Green, OK it's been done, don't need to go there again

Black, been there done that and lets do it again some time soon.

Red, no contest, it's the right colour.

No, No! It's not me that's the 'spoil sport' in all of this. As I felt I had previously made perfectly clear , it's nowt to do with me. If I were to have a choice, and if the end of that superb green livery were still deemed to be mandatory next summer, I would have gone for the BR maroon that was worn by, and was obviously so popular upon, No 46229 for so many years before it received its 'bathtub'.
Okay, many will now emerge from the woodwork to argue that the latter would not be authentic for that particular class member, but, in the general scheme of things, does that really matter? Indeed, others may very well ask - and perhaps with some justification - why was not BR crimson lake included in any list of options. However, as I also said before, waffle all you like about it, but this lot have made their minds up ... and that, sadly, appears to be the end of the matter!
