Yes, santa trains still run to Arley (I don't think the little ones could cope with a full on trip all the way to Bridgnorth!) About half an hour to Arley is just about right, there's about 5 or 6 santas there (Shhh!) Im not sure how long the wait is these days. I should imagine you have an hour/90 mins in Arley. Then back on the train, and then theres the option of breaking the journey at Bewdley. A very slick operation! I think VT had a look at doing a mainline santa and they admitted that they couldn't compete with the SVR's, bit of a back handed compliment I'd say!

Hurrah! Brunswick green is an invention of modellers in the 1960s and only good for park benches.

Brunswick Green, as light, middle or deep are standard colours in the BS381 series and nor an invention of modellers. Its relationship to the liveries of GWR & BR is, however questionable in the extreme. GCR livery is about equivalent to Mid Brunswick green, though. I think!!!

Yes, but what do you mean by BR black? There's black and there's black. Ask any LNWR fan and he'll tell you that LNW locos were painted Blackberry black. Is that the same as BR black?:D I was only last week talking to someone about Williamson's Black and he was complaining that it wasn't very black! But only after I'd bought 10 litres.

Would it be the same shade of black as Spinal Tap's "Smell the Glove" Album cover? That very Black!

That is quite a SPAD at 0.55!!! I am sure the line was under a possession, but it does not look great!

Nice vid, glad you had a good time! :)

As for the comment by Nexuas, would he like to turn up & sit in Alresford box just to drop the peg, wait a while, and then pull it back when asked to do so, and then go home?..... I think not! :p rough with the smooth & all that!

Matt & Warwick, do a good job & I'm trying to get them to look at a few new locations.........

Excellent video. Good to see 92212 barking a bit harder than she usually does!

On a clear day I can just hear the trains leaving Alton so not too far to drive... However I like my rails a bit closer together, otherwise the MHR would make a huge amount of sense when it came to my volunteering.

It was just an observation rather than a complaint!

Still in the yard at Ropley as of yesterday afternoon.

Anybody else who's seen it, noticed something strange about one of the South side doors?................ never mind the need to get rid of the WCRC decal's!

BTW Steve, it was good to have a brief chat with you in the evening, I hope the Centenarian enjoyed her gammon! :)

You mean the fact the middle door is welded shut? Isn't this part of the running Mk1's on the mainline as the middle door is deemed to be the weak point?
