It looks as though Tangmere has passed her probationary period and will be let out on her own for this one. (Notice the LE paths out of and into Victoria.)

    Times are at:

I suspect that depends on whether all coaches in the train have working steam heat. As discussed elsewhere, most of WCRC's sets seem to have at least one ETH-only vehicle in them at the moment. OTOH, a trailing DL does get in the way at Yeovil Jn, not to mention the expense of paying a DL driver for a whole (long) day, rather than just 2 short Southall - Victoria trips.

No actual times on RTT yeti. Edit, yes they are, it's on the move. Just didn't have a departure time for Victoria! Hope all runs OK as I think big brother Don may be on board, (and many others too!), or at least photting it today. I'd love to know how it does from Basingstoke to Salisbury. From a brief glance looks like the only decent schedule of the day.

RTT does strengthen at least the possible plan of steam only: load shown as 420 tons. Instead of the "normal" 715 tons showing when a diesel is in the consist.

    Run Tangy, run...................

All being well, I'll be waiting for it at Salisbury as I'm working today. If anyone from here is on board and wants to say hello, it would be nice to put a face to an avatar!

From RTT looks like time was lost on the climb to Worting and beyond, no surprise that was a very, very tight timing. Then what seems to be some good fast running onto Salisbury. RTT shows 41 mins Basingtoke - Salisbury, a gain of 1 minute. Depending on load that sounds quite good. If so, that would have met my criteria for enjoying a main line steam run these days. ie one start to stop section up to the standard of the 1960s. But just couldn't make it today, my Owls are keeping me incredibly busy.

Hmm... Tisbury loop to Gillingham looks a very sharp start to stop time too. Got to climb to Semley summit, race down the grade and then stop in the station.

Here is Tangmere adding to her volcanic reputation and darkening the skies of Woking this morning!

Good that Tangmere has passed its probation. Saw it on the climb to Grateley. Sounded in good form. Nice to see the correct headcode discs for the route. Unfortunately, in true Tangmere style, I didn't see much else except the first half of the support coach and lots of steam!

Steady climb out of Sherborne this evening, could be heard a good six minutes before passing by onto the short level before Milborne Port.

Clapham Junction for Tangmere, and a very back-lit SW4 for the Black Fives.
