Won't be a proper S+D gala without a 7F! Be nice when we have 75069 back to have a nice little Southern cameo with 34027/53 at Bridgo, wonder if Mr McQuade would let some of the MK1's go green?!

Just remember folks, as the gala of a couple of years ago proved, no guest it truly confirmed until it rolls off the low loader or through the exchange siding. For those that still want to catch the 9F she is booked to run all this week.

Whyt not see if the Mid Hants might do a swap? Bittern is due to be running there next year so a set of Gresley teaks would go down a treat! :)

Wonder if 3205 will call in at the SVR on the way home from SSS4? Can't have a SVR Anniversary gala without her surely?

Think I've mentioned this point too Lil Bear I have no insider gen at the SVR at all but if you think back to last years Gala after a certain Pannier tank paid a visit to the SVR, said tank went to a railway 40 odd miles north of Bridgnorth. As I say I have no idea if 3205 will visit but sometimes you have to read between the lines! ;-)

Received sub copy of steam mag and the mage states the LT pannier from the south devon is visiting the railway, so will sdr want both 3205 and the pannier away same weekend?

7 low loaders to get the teaks to the mHR. That's some transport bill.

Isn't there a precedent in that the SVR teaks went to the NYMR though ?

Yes they did, I know cos I ended up travelling in them! Think they went in 2005? They were still wearing 'The Day Continental' roof boards they 'exclusivley' wore when the B12 visited the SVR 1998!

7 low loaders? I think that might prove a problem on the MHR sets are 5 or 6 carriages.

Something is GWR livery would be nice. Those coaches are crying out for something other than a freight engine.

Steam Railway magazine reports the second visitor is Pannier L92 (5786) from South Devon Railway, an ex-SVR resident. SVR Facebook promises an announcement at 0900 tomorrow

When was the last time a 57XX ran on the SVR? I used to be sick of them. I haven't seen one working since May 2010!

5786 attended the Spring Steam Reunion Gala in March 2010.

    3650 visited in 2012

5764 went out of traffic in, I think, January 2011,

Would I be right in thinking 5786 was based at Bewdley from about 1970-71 for a while but never ran in SVR service? I think it went to Bulmers ( I seem to recall it was painted silver in1977) then went to the SDR in about '93? Anyhow great news its coming back Im partial to a bit of Pannier tank...

57XXs have a 3/4 inch blast pipe and can manage 8 mk1s easily enough. Front window behind one of those going backwards up Eardington Bank and you know about it!

They're limited to 200 tons (six coaches, or 7 LMS coaches) on the SVR due to water capacity - discussed on other threads.

    Cheers

    Patrick
