Thanks Lil bear, I know about the track so that was ok, although I'd still be interested to hear more about these scrapped lever frames, given all your planned extensions couldn't they have been put away until their time came? And the MK 1s he was on about? given our recent "conversation" this doesn't sound great, but I presume they were all basket cases, in which case "Cock & Sucker" (I wonder if that will get moderated - will show if the mods read this thread I suppose...) what is there to complain about, given you can't know the full facts as you have been banned...

The Coaches weren't CVR. If an owner decides they want to scrap their property, then it is their decision to do so. Nothing we as a rly can do. This is yet another perfect example of Mr Adams manipulating situations to aid his own propaganda against the CVR.

Alas, I fear the exact same thing would happen in a replacement thread.

Please, just ignore him: most of the rest of us are happy to hear updates as to what's going on there.

You seem to be assuming they were scrapped; probably best to take his claims with a grain of salt (q.v. the carriages and crane, see this post for an example of where he got it wrong about them).

Given that the thread has had to spend some time locked, could you have perhaps phrased that a little better Ralph?!?! ;)

    Thanks as well Ralph.
A bit of new stuff at Endon, the station building is being renovated into a tea room and run as a franchise until the CVR/MCR finally have the line. A couple of photos showing work being done to convert it with permission from Dave Gibson. 1975275_313033348885486_441835547217489350_n.jpg 10365889_313033388885482_8429402736278945505_n.jpg 10392443_313033345552153_3080251660409359467_n.jpg

Yes it should but I was pushed for time and that was the first thing I could think of.

Very smart, how soon will it open as a tea room? (I may have to pop in next time I'm down that way).

Its not so much 'when will it open as a tea room' - that could happen any time. What we want to see is a team room served by the railway.

Yes, of course, but I'm guessing that the team room will open and then in due course the railway. Can't wait for the latter, but I'll settle for the former for now...

Was meant to be 5th January, but not heard anything to say how well it's progressing. Been taken on under a lease, by a local couple who own a bakery business. They'll be using the new tea rooms to sell mainly their own products as well as a selection of other items.

Presumably selling to the displaced dog walkers now looking for somewhere to go / have an excuse for "taking the dog for a walk" ?

Just a couple of photos to show that while the thread was suspended work has still been going on maintaining the line in good order. Trees cut down, broken concrete sleeepers replaced and all line walks with associated work done. All now ready for one of the N7s last runs before retirement.

Now is the time to blow away the Winter Blues and get to see a steam engine working hard up the steep incline from Leek Brook. This Sunday the N7 is on one of its last runs up the Cauldon Line to Ipstones before being withdrawn is well worth seeing and hearing. Tickets for the excursion and also Sunday Lunch are still available and with a lot of treecutting being done this last year and some this year the views have really opened up.
