Might just be, when empty; although I have my doubts.....You'd be looking at 13-14 tonne/loco.

Good point, forgot to take the weight of the lorry into account!

There's a chance 7822 will be running at the event so fingers crossed.

Par twins were moved as a single load during their travels . The Haulier in question was happy to take both. It is how my Bristol Harbour event with the two happened

Alfred and Judy are 18 tons per loco, if I recall correctly from their visit here.

According to Wiki, these locos are 10" x 16" cylinders with 2'-9" wheels so the 18 tons is going to be weight in full working order. They'll probably tip the scales at 13-14 t empty so might just fit on a low loader within limits.

6880 are hopeful that both 7822 and 6430 will be ready for the event, of which there is an outside chance but I wouldn't put too much hope on this happening just yet.

Just remember 44806 was meant to be ready for SSS1, and 80072 was in a similar situation for SSS2.

Whilst the work LR do is good, to get 2x locos ready within 3 months is a big ask.

It'll but a good gala nonetheless. 5199 put in a fantastic performance on Christmas Eve. Good grief! Sorry. I've just seen 75029 in LNER green on teaks in what is supposed to be 1924. I wish I hadn't recorded the Downton Abbey Christmas special now. Anyway, everything seems to be in order with the prairie. Perhaps they could use it as a drag engine on the Corwen section. It's one of the few times we'll ever get a shot of a loco leaving Corwen facing Llangollen until the loop is put in.

Sad news about the 9F not being able to make the East Lancs Gala in January, hopefully she'll still make it to LLan! Anyone got news on what's wrong with her or how much work she'll need?

Still needs a few issues attending to, but with no trains running at Llan until February, there is plenty of time to do it. Not sure if it's right, but i had heard there might be a plan to turn either it or 80072 at some point this year so we'll see which one, and when it happens.

80072, 7822 and 6430 are all steadily progressing, but as ever each ones steaming date will depend how much time, money and effort are thrown at each of them. None are planned to be finished at any specific time so any of them running at the gala with be pure coincidence and good luck.

    I
Would certainly be nice. Flipping epic run on the black 5 on Saturday night. If we have more of that in the gala, I don't care what's running........ well... maybe just a bit.

Thanks for the response - hopefully it will be something relatively easily fixed, the 92212 would be a cop loco for me.

92212's the one I'm most looking forward to. I can't wait to ride her on one of the late night trains. The Llangollen lads will make her rattle the Dee Valley!

When's the 9F coming on the low loader? That would be worth seeing.

I believe its at least 1no blown superheater tube, however the decision has been made to replace all of them. Regarding the trip to Llangollen with the MHR having its own boiler shop I cannot see why she won't be available to travel (Plus she's needed for the Febuary MHR Gala).
