I Recently noticed on the VNTL/Vintage Trains online booking form that one tour is planned to run to Weston-Super-Mare on Sat 29th August. This could be a sign that 7029 Clun Castle will be ready by then, however the problem is there isn't any details on the website regarding routing, motive power/steam loco, etc.

Also noticed is the possibility of 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe returning to Liverpool for the first time in 4 years, Double steam trips to Hereford with 5043 & 46233, Cotswold Explorer, Welsh Dragon to Holyhead, etc.

We might even get a run with 6201 Princess Elizabeth this year if she is ready in the latter half of 2015.

Here's where I found out the latest set of tours that will be running in the latter half of 2015.

According to the booking page the pick ups and drop offs are Tyseley Warwick Road, Snow Hill, Worcester Shrb Hill and Bristol Temple Meads.

5043 to Poole, looks a good one. And a Duchess, over the Marches, should be a big seller !

Full details of all our tours for 2015 will be available at www.vintagetrains.co.uk around Saturday 17th January.

The paper brochures have gone to the printers and are expected to appear in passengers mailboxes around the same time.

The Aug 29th trip to Weston-super-Mare is NOT going to be with 7029. Our Chairman commented that 7029 will hopefully be on the mainline by the end of the year. I have no reason to contradict that statement. It will be done when it is done!

Aw damn and blast I was hoping for a run to Weston behind 7029, oh well never mind there is the rest of the Tyseley fleet. But lets not forget that 35018 British India Line is due out this year so there could be a chance of her working a vintage trains run aswell as 6201 Princess Elizabeth. 4936 Kinlet Hall hasn't been seen on a mainline railtour since the double headed hallage trip which I believe ran to Newport, be great to see her out again. I Look forward to seeing the full details of what is planned though and as the Seaside Express is only £69.00 it's a real possibility for me.

Kinlet Hall is on loan to the WSR until mid to end of October.

Yes 4936 is currently on loan to the WSR for the 2015 season but she is available to work charters if needed,
4965 Could even do it as she proved that the water carrier is ideal for long runs like this as she managed to run from Tyseley to Chester without stopping except for pickups. 5043 is most likely as she is the only express engine Tyseley has at present and she is also the only castle out on the mainline now since 5029 has been withdrawn due to her poor condition. Will be amazing though if 6023 King Edward II were to get the run as she is due out on the mainline in the summer, but im not going to say anything else as we need to wait and see what VNTL have planned and besides waiting 8 days for the announcement wont be too bad as it will all be worth it.

What sort of fantasy world do you live in? if the prices you quote are true then tysley are not going to make enough on tickets to pay a hire charge for an engine!

It must be nice to live in dreamworld all the time!

You may have a point, but the way you put it is not really in the spirit of Nat Pres if I may say so. Maybe as a very new member you can be forgiven however, : )

I might be a new member, but I have prior "on-line interactions" with some people.

I Wasn't saying it will happen I was only saying it would be nice if it was 6023, We know it will be one of Tyseley's engines working the trip.

Problem with 4965 to the WSR would be load, Halls are limited to 8 on Old Hill Bank, chuck in a water carrier and there isn't much passenger accomadation if your going single headed.

5043 on Parkestone could be interesting, did the itinary some years ago with 35005 and it was a good day out, just a shame Swanage isn't viable for an out and back without a functioning turntable of decent size.

David, you seem awfully knowledgeable about Vintage Trains operations. Are you in a consultancy roll with them?

Not exactly, though I woulden't turn down a consultancy fee :p

If you read the late Mike Notleys column a lot and comments from knowledgable people on here and other places, you soon learn about loco limits over certain sections of route and such like, having traveled with VT over numerous routes helps too, not exactly a state secrets what I mention :)
