Can I ask, does anyone know what future returns to steam we might see in the medium/long term?

I've a soft spot for 6106 which I rode in the cab off for an hour or two many years ago (on No5 road ,it was so long ago) and also 1466 which I rode behind on the Wallingford Branch pre C&WR. Als0 6996 Burton Agnes Hall which I scraped some muck off once. I'd like to see each of these steam agaoin before I shuffle off this mortal coil. Any chance? (7808 too would be nice)

No I do not currently volunteer
4144 is due back in traffic soon and funds are being raised for 1466. I would love to see 6106 run again but I believe she needs rather a lot of work which is why she has been out of action for so many years.

Yes I am an active volunteer
I too would like to see some of the GWS' older engines restored like the four you mention and 5900. Perhaps the organisation is too interested in it's new-build projects to be able to restore some of its older collection.

It's be nice if they could fix their one remaining Barry wreck (5227) first... Yes I know it was bought for parts.

    why "first"?

It may be on the cards, if we get an informed opinion on this thread, then we'll know.
