    I just saw an old Sheena Easton video on the Bluebell with her riding on the buffer beam of 488!

    Fair to say that if you are going to do that on any engine, 488 was not a bad choice. You certainly wouldn't be doing it on a 56xx!

    Once upon a time is was a fairly common practice for a fireman to sit on a buffer beam and sand the rails. 56XX excepted, I agree!
