Hope you have a good trip - the conditions up here were absolutely stunning today - from about Oxenholme north, there is snow everywhere, the Lune Gorge looks amazing - Howgills completely covered - and Shap has a fair bit as well. Oh yes and the Pennines are completely covered. :)

If RTT is to be believed the Duchess and support crew can now enjoy an early night tucked up in Carnforth. So she will be nicely ready for tomorrow and there will also be snow on the hills. Scenery, snow and LMS magnificence in 2015. It really is just worth pinching yourself for a moment as 50 years ago, I wouldn't have taken bets on any of that happening now.

In that case Stephen, looking forward to some great videos, always assuming you have your snowshoes.

Ok, thanks for that. Its a long long time since I had double headed diesel haulage, in fact I suspect back in the 80's. I have had double headed Black 5's a couple of times and I know what I prefer.

And the boxes on the front are:

    47747 and 47237
47747 sounds like its on its last legs, but the generator on carriage c is in fine form and louder than the 47s

Coach A is at the front and K at the rear.

And for the mods, our 1st class compartment awaits...

    image.jpg

1st being on the front for the return! (But it at least the compartment door used to be in better days)

Ralph's found this headboard in the back of the BSK should he arrange for it to be on the return run, centre lower lampiron.
