Excellent despite the quality. They took me back to an era of BR that I didn't see enough of at the time.

some of them are from my fondly remembered Railrover...a week roughing it travelling the country.... made it as far as Inverness. I should have made it a guess the location competition!

That brings back memories of the era. I did a couple of Southern region Railrover jaunts at the time, and an epic Weekend return to Kyle of Lochalsh up the west coast and down the east coast, mind you having a blue ticket helped a lot :) Like you they were recorded on the instamatic, must find them.

Excellent, there is something brilliant about old instamatic photos; not sure what it is but they really portray the whole atmosphere of the time :)

I've had some success with old Instamatic pictures by putting the scans through Photoshop to improve the colour rendition. But reproduction size is limited by the relatively small size of the original negative, alas.

Nice to see Reading before it got destroyed recently.
I have corrected this one, hope you don't mind.
2015-02-12_198.JPG See the old West Main signal box was still standing at this time.
Don't remember 45's or 46's working into Reading though.

thanks. I didn't take many pics back then so they had a tendancy to include the more unusual workings. 45/6 were indeed rare as were class 40's

Fair enough didnt know you'd made (or kept!) any notes. I for one dont write my moves down anymore gets a bit boring writing down 170 xxx! I still keep a record of all the locos I've had though.
