Excuse my ignorance....but how come its more expensive to purchase a day rover ticket (£22) with gift aid than one with out gift aid (£20)?

Because the one with gift aid has to include a gift, i.e. an optional donation. Gift aid can only be claimed back on the gift element (the £2 difference between the cost of the ticket with and the cost without), not on the basic cost of the ticket.

Yes, though it's 6880 who is selling the tickets not LR ;)

That's it, 6880 make all the money from the event. It takes Llan railway PLC a bit more effort to then get the money out of the group in return for a certain new build loco moving closer to completion.

On the timetable, does anyone know what the various sets of carriages are, these are my guesses:
5A - 4x Mk1 plus Thompson buffet car. Blood and Custard?
5B - 4x Mk1 plus GWR observation saloon. Choclate and Cream
3 - Suburbans (Are there 3 now?). Maroon?
Freight - What does this include?
    Thanks, Matthew

That lot sounds about right. 3rd sub is being if I shed tomorrow, so first passenger runs will be Friday. Freight not formed up yet. Be whatever is fit to run, vac fitted and within specified length.

What happened to all those other coaches they had? There used to be 4 maroon mark 1s and some others.

Presumably they are just not needed. There are only a certain number of sets which can be used at once, and each set can be max 5 coaches due to the Corwen platform length

Still got them. All sets restricted to 5 max due to Corwen Platform. Also the system isn't being used to maximum capacity to allow for recovery time / light engine moves / shunt time at Goods and Carrog.

Is there a reason why on Saturday the 9:57 only becomes a passenger train from Glyn? Does this not start Corwen as the 9:15, split at Carrog and then go on to Glyn?

Yes! Most trains take at least 1 hr to travel from Llan to Corwen. Why does the Corwen platform length limit the length of trains, there's nothing wrong with a few coaches off the end is there? 13 coaches in use (Friday) doesn't sound much considering the amount of people expected.

On the second Saturday, should the 11:34 ex Carrog be with the 'Train Engine' (i.e. 34092) like on the first Saturday, or with 3802 as shown?

I can't remember the reason off the top of my head, but i'm sure it's come from an ORR recommendation. Very unfortunate really. No, not a lot of capacity for a big event is it!

Also, if you think that both of the 5 car sets has a brake - so there's half a coach lost. Then you have the saloon on the choc and cream set. Less capacity than a TSO. And on the carmine and cream set is the Thomson buffet - 60' in length yet only having 8 seats.

Hopefully things will be sorted for future events and normal running days even. There's a lot of 'politics' going on behind the scenes at the moment!
