Possibly following a few espressos, :)

Did the CME on 7th Feb and drove to MK to join it so nearly as long a day. Be fine once I get going. Adrenalin and all that

Yes, know what you mean, I've been there myself. Usually the day after it catches up in my case, by which time I can sleep all I want, :) Fingers crossed the Jub makes it all worthwhile for you.

Meanwhile, over on the ECML someone else will be on the first train up and the last train back to pick up the RTC Wensleydale trip. :) and much later

I'll be thinking of you both. By comparison, mine will be a lazy day to Surrey, watching 35028 on one of her last assaults of Gomshall Bank prior to overhaul, followed by a few pints in the Gomshall Mill,

35028 has seven more Surrey hills runs after the 21st March.

Thanks, yes, so I see. Not sure why, but I imagined it'd be less than that. Will try and get a few more sightings in, especially when the longer, brighter, (though hopefully not excessively dry), days arrive, :)

It says empty stock, so what's that for?

Would it be cheaper to book B/B for 2 nights in Birmingham and let the wife spend the day in B/ham's Bull Ring Shopping Complex ?

Oh no, definitely not cheaper with my wife on a spending spree!!!

I dont mind the long drive as long as the Jub turns up. It will be my first Jub over the S&C since August 1966.

May well see you in the Mill (or before at Hackhurst Farm). Cheers!

Thanks, though now I've realised there are quite a few more Surrey Hills with 28 before 30 June, my mate and I have decided to do Saturday 2nd May instead, and combine it with the Reading Beer Festival in the evening. Always a good event, :)

Another one doing a marathon! Good luck Al.

Hope you guys doing these trips will find time to post a report or two during the day. I'm planning to be busy with Owls, (March Spring Tides), but will be watching progress of the steam trips as much as I can.

The Scot seemed to have sparked off a little trouble in its wake around Low Gill and past Tebay, hope everything is ok for the return.

Well, despite the problems with 61306, it was still 6 - 44871 and 45407 topped and tailed the NYMR Whitby to Battersby services.

After the feast, one of those two will be the only steam on the Network tomorrow!
