The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express 2015.

This makes sense as 46115 seemed in fine fettle on lower part of Grayrigg. Was a couple of coaches from the back so couldn't always see the the loco through the mist and murk.

 

Thanks Ralph. On previous trips the loco has always been on the train when I got back to the station and had presumably already set back.

 

I'm guessing that there is no WCME the 4th April, with the RTC web site not listing one, but UK Steam has done for some time now.

 

Engineering works between London Euston and Watford Junction all weekend, and between Crewe and Warrington Bank Quay from 1.00pm on Saturday.

 

There's also a trip up the Cumbrian Coast on 11th April that's not on uksteam.

 

Do you have any details on that one Mark? Is it advertised online anywhere, or a private job?

 

Hi Ian, 'Steam Along the Cumbrian Coast', pretty sure it's a Compass trip but web site is down so can't check. Starts Bridlington, out via S&C, steam on at Carlisle, off (I think) at Carnforth. Times here

According to Steaminfo, A loco will be hitching a ride with the, Scot, on the, CME, on, 11/04/15, for the yet to be named tour down the Cumbrian Coast.

 

Isn't the CME on the 4th cancelled?

8f perhaps then Liam if both of the Jub's are out of gauge .

 

Surprised if it was the black eight as wouldn't that reduce the speed too much over Shap (or more accurately up the base of shap then after the summit).

 

8F did Shap and the Coast last year so it could well be a pilot on the WCME to drag it over the summit at 50mph!

 

Would a Merchant Navy fit around the coast?
