61994 in steam at York. I suspect its going to leave tonight whilst WCRC have their 48 hours grace to tidy-up their affairs before the ban.

Had a call from the RTC this morning to check I had received yesterday's email and that I was clear what was going on.

That strikes me as good practice. Leave nothing to chance. Well done to the RTC . Enough said.

Just had the following e-mail from RTC:

"We are emailing to update you on our progress with obtaining a revised date for The Wansbeck tour which was scheduled to run on April 4th.

We are currently hoping to be able to re date this tour to run in June, however we have been unable yet to confirm all aspects of the tour for this revised date.

We hope to be in a position to confirm the new date for the tour by the end of next week and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience with us, whilst we organise it fully."

Assuming that it will still be a Saturday, I'm keeping everything crossed that it is the one out four that month that I'm not working :Nailbiting:

Same here. We're not out of the woods yet, but hopefully things are moving in the right direction.

Just received further news via e-mail from RTC:

"With regards to your booking on The Wansbeck on Saturday 4th April, we are pleased to confirm that we now have a revised date for this tour to operate. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in confirming these revised tour arrangements.
The tour will now run on Saturday 10th October 2015.
We are hopeful to be able to run the tour as advertised including Lynemouth Colliery line and Boulby loop, however we will not receive confirmation from Lynemouth Colliery until late in the summer. We will write to you at this stage if the routing for the tour is to change."

Forget the woods. It's the collieries I'm interested in.

Yes, got the email today, too. I'll probably keep the booking active, as it would be nice to see the clifftop section without fog, even if Lynemouth drops off the radar (which I hope not, as that branch was the only new track on the trip for me).

Despite actually being on leave that day I shall have to cancel as being in Sofia (Bulgaria) that morning is not a position of strength :(

With postponed trips falling like flies, I hope that the re-dated Wansbeck manages to survive. An earlier indication from the RTC would be helpful as some of us have accommodation to book.

Don't jinx it, Al! It would be interesting to know what's hauling it, though. Would a Jube be able to do the branches if one is fit? I seem to recall 45690 (and/or 45699) has been on the Blyth and Tyne before.

I have heard 62005 is out on another job on that day in scotland so it might not be that joining 61994, wonder if 45699 could join her.

Indeed K1 No. 62005 will be up in Fort William that week, rostered the Monday-Friday leading up to the Wansbeck.

Would guess 45231 might be more probable than 45699.

Second question is K4 No. 61994. With her being contracted to the Moors until the end of October, does the contract have enough flexibility to let the mogul out for a wander around the North East? Bearing in mind the NYMR's current difficulties with covering the steam turns with working locomotives.
