Actually Al, I had planned it that way anyway. Its going to be tougher from now on though but I plan to cover the current steam scene with DBS operated trips plus some infills with recent runs not previously reported on

You're absolutely right of course. The print media have no choice but to report the situation as of their print deadline. The fact they've managed to sum up the situation as it is without missing anything out is significant. We kind of like having this "always on" style of communication, but most of it is merely putting into words what would previously be thoughts in our heads, the value of which is distinctly questionable !

My copy also arrived today as did the latest issue of The Railway Magazine. The RM has a photo of the actual incident (on page 8) with 34067 and her support coach sitting on the crossover at Wootton Bassett junction. It's a bloody good job the CE trip wasn't running a minute earlier at this point. The picture really brings home how bad the collision could have been.
Reading the report it also shows how fortunate they were with the points as they had already been set even though the signal was at danger.

Yes, I had a look too, about an hour ago. So it's only just come on.

I've seen that mentioned on two other forums, so it looks quite promising. Especially when you add in the Grosmont - Fort Bill move on Monday.
