Do Southern drivers count as the first chavs in Britain ?, I notice plenty of souped up hatches with the underside lit up of a night, can't think where they got that idea from.:D

Seriously though it's good to see it back.

Let's hope that all goes to plan and Taw Valley is able to haul the Golden Jubilee Pullman on the 16th May.

    THE GOLDEN JUBILEE PULLMAN
    Saturday 16 May 2015
    [IMG]
    TIMINGS NOW CONFIRMED, SEE BELOW.
THIS TOUR IS NOW VIRTUALLY FULL. ONLINE BOOKINGS HAVE CLOSED. PLEASE CALL.
The Severn Valley Railway is arguably the finest preserved railway in Britain. The delightful scenery combines with an all-round high standard of restoration that is a credit to the skill and dedication of its volunteers and the vision of the founders of the Severn Valley Railway Preservation Society in 1965.
It seems amazing that half a century has now passed by, and to mark the anniversary a very special run of the 'VSOE' British Pullman is being arranged from London Victoria to Bridgnorth.
The day begins at London's Victoria Station where the superbly restored Pullman cars will draw into Platform 2 for our guests to board. Our route will be via the undulating Chiltern Line through High Wycombe and onward through Royal Leamington Spa and the revived Birmingham Snow Hill to Kidderminster where the train runs directly on to the Severn Valley Railway.
The Pullman will draw admiring glances as it glides at a sedate pace through the perfectly preserved stations at Bewdley, Arley, Highley and Hampton Loade. All too soon we reach the end of the line at Bridgnorth, a pleasing Shropshire town well worth exploring. Bridgnorth is a very long way from the sea, but this does not prevent it having a fascinating cliff railway!
You have a few hours to travel on the SVR's scheduled steam train services (included in the fare) and later on in the afternoon our Pullman train is rejoined at Bewdley for the journey back to London Victoria.
Dining is an essential part of the VSOE Pullman experience. Brunch with a glass of Bellini will be enjoyed on the outward journey from London, followed by the now-famous Pullman Pasty as we journey up the Valley. The afternoon gives us ample opportunity to build up our appetites for a truly wonderful five-course dinner, complete with Champagne and wine, savoured as we head back to London.
We are planning for the train to be hauled by a vintage 'Deltic' locomotive from London to the Severn Valley Railway and back. On the SVR itself we are hoping for 'West Country' Pacific 34027 'Taw Valley to feature.
Clearly tours with the British Pullman are never going to be cheap, but we believe our fares compare very well with other offerings aboard this remarkable prestige train.
The price is £395 per person.
We look forward to the pleasure of your company on this poignant occasion.

The Traffic Notice http://www.svrlive.com/Documents/WTT 2015-05-11 Mon.pdf shows two return test runs Mon-Thursday this week.

The SVRA unofficial forum reports the GW2 coach set is being moved to Bridgnorth this evening so loaded test runs can be done with Taw Valley during the week.

73952 is also on the SVR for testing.

Otherwise it's table A service with 2857, 43106 and D8059. 34053 comes out to play on Friday with 43106 doing Footplate Experience runs

Reported elsewhere 55009, havng delivered visitor 55019, has been undergoing repairs (see http://thedps.co.uk/) and is off Kidder to Southall 13th May in preparation for hauling the VSOE Pullman to SR on May 16th.

    or

And also from the forum, it's also expected that Taw Valley will haul a public relief service from BH to KR on May 16th, departing 1535, not calling at HL.

As much as I don't like boxes, even I appreciate a two tone green Deltic on Pullmans,it just looks "right", now I wonder if it'll have a Thistle Headboard......... hell, as the damn things coming past my back door that morning, I might just have to drag my arse out of bed to see it (given the paucity of steam......)!

Ahh intresting. Lovely piece of kit 059 always seems to dig the railway out of a hole.
