Without wishing to disparage 45699, Leander sounds in a different class.

Picked up a leaflet for the Dalesman in Sheffield today. Given recent history had to chuckle at the use of 71000 as main image

Wish I'd have had time to go that bit further north today as the conditions were nicer beyond Settle, sadly however I had to get Becky back to Wakefield for work at 3 so didn't want to risk been in the dog house!

    Great video at Langcliffe,Stephen.

Still, here are our efforts from Long Preston,

@83B I think @3855 is not too far off the mark . The timetable changes upto 2018 , ERTMS etc will slowly constrain main line steam . Don't forget as well there is an ORR consultation that has just concluded and we do not know the next steps that may create

    Thanks Ralph.
I also noticed there seems to have been some clearance around Settle Junction signal box. I hope this isn't localised and more work is or has been done to open up more shots.

Really glad that 45690 and 45699 have put in 2 flawless performances within a matter of days. The 2 jubs I expect to be the busiest this summer. 48151 also normally emerges in top condition.

Terrific shots Shep. Another lesson for me in disregarding the Aisgill weather forecast judging by the conditions in that classic shot.
