    Nice one.

    If you'd got there a bit earlier we'd have met up and you'd have been able to film a Schools Class on the 09.25 Margate to Birkenhead Inter Regional train heading in the other direction.

    Only a little bit earlier: just over 53 years earlier in fact. 20th April 1962 when I took that shot. LOL!

    I believe messrs Thompson, Clarke and Cotterell were the rostered crew.. Not sure who was driving and who was rostered as fireman though.

    Interesting, I used to see these trains change engines at Reading, usually to a 81D Castle. SR moguls were quite common on these workings as well, even the 3 cyl version as well I think.
    However I thought BRCW Type 3's (class 33's) took over the SR leg around 1961 in line with the Kent Coast electrification phase 2.
    Although I was only 11/12 years old back then.
