The Fellsman 2015

Left lancaster on time.

 

RT at top of Hoghton bank, 46115 working, good speed, 47 pushing.

 

I was thinking as the 47 passed the platform end at Lancaster earlier, that must be possibly the most boring job, sitting at the controls of a diesel all day looking at the back of a mk1 carriage and occasionally applying power.

 

He was definitely in the front cab (and looking bored!) when it departed Lancaster

 

A bit like the episode of One Foot in the Grave where Victor is stuck in a bank holiday traffic jam behind a horse box and spends the whole day "staring at a horse's backside."

I did see another photographer standing beside the wall a little from my position and now see it was you Shep Wooley. Shame we couldn't keep that lovely light we had at 15.17 & 15.28 the fells looked superb bathed in the light and shadow. My shot taken at Angeholm and what a lovely sound the Scot made climbing to the summit.

Hardly a cloud in the sky as it rounded the bend towards Wilpshire tunnel in the early evening sun light.... although it was getting a good push up the hill by the class 47

Lovely shot combining 2 recent rarities, 46115 and sunshine. About 7E at the summit, then held in Blackburn for the York - Blackpool N, 2L at Cherry Tree where it was getting a real hefty push from the 47.
