Not sure anyone would notice if the Midlands was reduced to a smoking wasteland.

Nice to see Clan Line for the first time today in perfect weather; sounded pretty good through Long Buckby going at a steady rate of knots and running 5 early, then sounded even better as it headed north out of Stafford where a late running XC service saved me from total bowlage by the Halewood-Southampton car train which was waiting at signals about 200 yards behind me...Video to follow

Footage of 35028 making steady progress through Long Buckby then thundering out of Stafford past Doxey Marsh Nature Reserve.

RTT shows her 3 early into Crewe.

    Au Revoir my friend.

A rest and a full overhaul now, but please come back fully refreshed on the front of a fast train out of Waterloo again before too long has passed.

Its fairly clear whats happened, Someone has stolen Clan Lines real Whistle as a souvenir and the MNPS had to pop down the local shop, get a party bag and use one off the plastic kids trumpet. Obviously the driver is very embarrassed to use it, and can't use it much anyway lest it melt.

Taken on my phone about an hour ago... detached from the train at Crewe, about to set off for the LNWR centre.

Some rather lovely whistles as she departed...
