I cant find a thread so far on this event so thought i would make one.

This is looking like its going to be one of the best line up of Midland region engines possibly ever in preservation.

So far in size order the locos going are:
    46233 Duchess of Sutherland
    6201 Princess Elizabeth
    45690 Leander
45551 The Unknown Warrior in build progress (as gate guardian where everyone enters and leaves)
    45305 Black 5
    45337 Black 5
    8274 Turkish 8F
    43106 Flying pig
    1000 Midland compound
    42500 3 Cylinder 2-6-4 tank
    47406 Jinty
    41708 Johnson Half cab

A pretty good line up so far!! I would love to see a Scot, Crab or 4F added but understand these events only have so much money to spend on transport. So are there many people from here going?

    Gav.

A mouthwatering line up, works out perfectly for me as I had booked the time off of work for something else but that's since been cancelled so will be able to make one of the photo charters as well as one of the public open days.

Never been to BH before, and I'm rather looking forward to it...! I echo the comments about a Royal Scot!

According to the latest Steam Railway Magazine, 6201 is no longer going to be attending. I can't say I'm surprised, but a shame nonetheless.

I wonder what the other three locomotives are, that are reportedly in the pipeline? Hopefully one of the Scots will be among the three...! :Snaphappy:

Putting dates on this event might help a few more people attend

My money is on the East Lancs Railway's Crab 13065 which is in that lovely Crimson Lake Livery, that would be nice next to the 1000 Midland compound.

According to the Railway Magazine's September issue, 46115 and 48151 have been invited to attend.

You never know @Gav106 - a Scot could turn up at Barrow Hill yet! ;)

I think it will. The weekend after I believe there are two WCRC trains from Cleethorpes so maybe Barrow Hill will be a stopping off point (all be it a week early).

Is 48151 currently in traffic? Not seen much about it for a while?

L&Y A Class 52322 has replaced 45337 according to the Railway Magazine Facebook page.

Doesn't sound as though 46115/48151 will be attending.

In my view a worthy replacement for all three!

Is there a timeline of events that happen throughout the day or is it a bit of a whatever happens - happens event? Not been before but I'm really tempted...

What a superb event and well organised last night on the Neil Cave Timeline Events BH photo charter. Superb afternoon sunshine and a golden patch later in the evening nicely lighting up the engines in the yard. When 46233 moved inside the roundhouse what a sight that was. Fabulous atmospheric atmosphere when engines are alive inside this place a joy to see and witness. My thanks to Neil and his team for another fabulous evening. Some images from last night on my Flickr page.
