Two engineers on route to, Grosmont, this evening to check the fusibles. There hoping to get her fixed and re time her path to, York. The info has come from an engineer on the 60007 FB page.

 

The return times on Tuesday are on the SD website - 7:33 off Edinburgh Waverley, into Kings Cross at 20:15. Obviously, these are subject to change following the news earlier today.

From an email received a few minutes ago.

Further to our earlier update the situation has been assessed in detail by our engineering team. It now appears that 60007 will be available to work to Edinburgh this weekend subject to final confirmation on Saturday morning. It has been quite a day with our team still at work at Grosmont at 10 pm and we should thank them for working extremely hard to resolve the situation. The Trust would like to apologise for the concern the annoucement of the non-availability of 60007 caused;, we were acting in good faith based on the best information available at the time. We hope for no further problems.

 

Reported elsewhere that 60007 is now en route to York. Fingers crossed for no more issues; well done to all concerned in the repairs.

She looked good passing Durham. Pity about the Duff on the back (47760).

 

The diesel hauled portion passed my train as I was heading for London this morning and soon seemed to be past, so probably not an excessive load but that is authentic enough -the LNER never overloaded their "racehorses"!

Well sounds promising for tomorrows lunchtime trip from Edinburgh

 

'The Cathedrals Express' on the 5th July 2015 hauled by LNER A4 No.60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley'.

60007 + 10 vehicles (including support coach) + 47760 on rear.

 

That looks like the same blasted diesel that broke down on us on the way back from Holyhead with the Emerald Isle Explorer!

 

We guessed the box would go with to do the shunting in Edinburgh and for tomorrow. That's why we decided not to go despite wanting to do No.7's last run. What a shame her finale has been tainted.
