    Following the advice on the website to check this morning, this is posted on UKRailtours Website:

    THE WHITE ROSE: UPDATE AS AT MONDAY 6 JULY AT 09.35. Network Rail (LNE zone) has advised that fire risk on the East Coast Main Line is presently designated LOW.
    This tour is now going ahead as planned, see timings below. Tickets are still available, please give us a call.

    My ticket is with UKRT for collection at York but I'm guessing that I won't be a million miles away from the buffet. I will be the one with the goggles and a video camera on a specially adapted selfie stick so I can capture the action from alongside the train...............NOT!

    Left KX on time but leisurely departure with stops in gasworks tunnel and afterwards to get on to slow line. Been told to "enjoy the sights, sounds and smells" of the Deltic. It's certainly left a smokescreen behind. Now, where's that window I reserved...
