45690 and 3205 visited in 2010 for the 40 years of steam so maybe less likely. What about 60009? Uk steam suggests it's not booked to do anything that weekend.

Just to change the subject I've picked up a copy of Steam Railway from 1989. Has it really been 27 years since No9 came down for its 1st Overhaul south of the border?!

I think the idea was for locos that were there at the beginning to be the visitors so guessing 3205 is the most likely but there are only two more visitors to be announced and a present it looks like they are going down the large loco route.
This might be best if the numbers are going to be high for the gala any high profile visiting loco that can only manage a shorter train is going to lead to over crowding.

According to the recently circulated minutes of last year’s AGM of the Guarantee Company (the Membership organisation), both Britannia and Raveningham Hall had accepted invitations to this year’s ASG.

This year’s AGM is this weekend, see what that brings...

What did people expect with the SVR visit being the first time 828 had ventured outside of Scotland?
I was on her test run on the Wednesday before the September gala. We tried 7 LMS coaches up out of Highley but she didn't like it so she was limited to 6.
If you place Tornado in the mix with the Caley 0-6-0 and the gorgeous late summer weather we had. It was a very busy gala.

What I meant to say was the trains with 828 were wedged but there was a great atmosphere on board. I dont think any of the cranks on board minded they understood why.

Can tell you now there were a number of cranks not happy on the Saturday. Having a 3-day ticket I tried to avoid her during peak times, and so did get a fabulous run on the Saturday morning with a slog of a climb out of Highly heading North. But rest of the time she was one to be avoided as it really was just too crowded. It was a relief when 4566 had to cover her last round trip of the gala as everyone seemed to disappear!

From memory I train I was on on Saturday whilst rather full certainly those I was with in the buffet were rather happy! Not being funny but certainly at the SVR's Autumn gala your going to have trouble getting a seat. Certainly on a Saturday anyway!

I'm taking the dog with me so whenever it gets too busy I'll walk between stations, only ones you can't do are Kidderminster and Bridgenorth, the rest are all very pleasant walks.
