I'll have to unleash Mini-Mox on you for all that, as he much more up-to-scratch with the going ons of our Wagon Fleet. That's if we can wake him up from his Norfolk slumber! @M59137

The website shows all the vehicles that are on public display, I haven't got round to updating the wagons yet as simply life has got in the way!

Oakamoor has been lifted and so now there is only a 200(?) Yard spur South of the pad.
What was at Oakamoor has either been relocated to either Leek Brook or Froghall, or left the railway. There is plans to construct some more sidings at Froghall to store everything here, but as is typical of all heritage railways we need more time/money to implement it!

I do know the Milk Tank has returned to Midsomer Norton (sadly). Personally like to get one back seeing as one of the main traffic flows of the line in the early days was transporting Milk from Ecton creamery.

Thanks for the update about the Milk Tank. Certainly agree about having an LMS Milk Tank on the odd train.

Remembered M59137 had answered similar queries in the past and a bit of delving found the 'Churnet valley railway rolling stock (whats happening?)' topic so added there as well.

Not many recent updates from PWay on the CVR - largely because the last few weeks have been spent either weedkilling or jacking & packing dipped joints. Much the same today and the team was down to a hardcore of 7. Three did a line walk from Chedd to Froghall and the other four did some more work on joints half mile south of Chedd. A senior team (average age approaching 70) so some time spent recovering from shovelling ballast.

Personally, I always found packing was easier if you stood up to shovel! :)

Yes you are right - can get more pressure on the handle and therefore packing under the sleeper. In the picture small pieces are being fed into the void and for that the shovel is best a bit more horizontal.

Dunno; it might be like firing a Standad Cl.4 tank. You can do that sitting down if the shovel is long enough!:)

When I first started the jacking and packing on the pway and using the sighting boards could not believe that it measured in cans of small ballast, thought that they were pulling something personal. Surprisingly it works out quite well but still I have my doubts that 2 cans 1 each side of the rail does a lot. Its like feeding strawberries to Elephants the way it disappears, but we still do it.

Should be. Repairs and washout complete, warming fire going in this afternoon once we finished lunch.

One part of PWay working on footpath crossings this week, prior to getting the lineside flailed with a tractor. Should look much better when done.

Forget to share the before/after photos, so here goes! Doing a spot of catch up after the mayhem of Anything Goes...

    Changeover Bridge.jpg Podmore Mill.jpg 190515_Consall.jpg

Anyone want to join us with such working parties, we shall restart around the second week of September (awaiting my work roster being issued in August before we decide dates). It's a good social crack too, especially if the OAPWay are with us :p

Enough of the OAPWay!! The CVR is kept going by their senior volunteers and they need some respect.

Ah, well in that case I accept your explanation without hesitation. I used to have a mate who was into Wednesday, I used to tease him a fair bit about The Blunts, Arsenal, Aston Villa / Big Ron....... lots of fun.

Wasn't Wednesday's ground close to the GCR?
