My Old Man's Old Man was a driver on the GCR so he probably would have stopped there once or twice in his day.

I had a wander around Sheffield a while ago, walked up to the Old Sheffield Victoria and apart from the Hotel itself and a rusty line of track there was nothing left to see. I couldn't even raise a pint to Grandad in the Hotel cause it was booked out for a conference. A big let down.

I'll have a problem - she died nearly 8 years ago. What if I conduct a séance and she was to speak through me, would that do?

It was actually started by a certain banned person on here, on a different website who thought we would be offended by it.So I kept using it to show it did not bother us.

You mean like "The Old Contemptibles" - the name coined by Kaiser Bill in WWI to denigrate British troops but taken as a badge of pride when the Germans lost the war ?

Perhaps Lil Bear knows the answer to this - August 22 has dinosores roaming up and down the Churnet Valley. Where will be the best place to see them?

Yes I have read that, but are they roaming all over or just at Froghall - or Consall - or Chedd. Perhaps hiding in Leekbrook tunnel.

They're normally found wandering the track every Wednesday and Sunday... (You walked into that one!)

Being serious for once, last I heard there was to be a dino-pen at Consall where you would get to meet a Raptor family and a 6ft ish T-Rex. Need to speak to Fletch as this is something he's running and so he'll have exact details, I'll try and get an update soon if you don't see him before me.

Right - I should have seen that one coming.
I intend coming up that day with a family and was trying to plan the day. Sounds like a break at Consall for Dinosores and Lion (black variety) will be in order. [sod the grammer police]

After the intensive service last weekend the track got a good inspection today with the OAPway in three groups working different sections. Sunstroke the problem today compared with trenchfoot last week. Sheff and I did Consall to Froghall and thought that the flailing of lineside vegetation made a big difference.
Lil Bear was firing the Polish Tank and making lots of noise with the airpump

Air pump needed no encouragement to make noise. Few teething issues with the refurbished Polish pump.
