    Has anyone ever written a murder mystery (novel, TV episode, whatever) set in the world of heritage railways? It sounds like something Midsomer Murders would do.

    I'm pretty sure a Midsomer Murders plot did feature a preserved steam line many moons ago.

    Not exactly central to the plot, but more than a 'bit part' IIRC.

    The Watercress line rings a bell but don't quote me on that.

    One of the 'Hetty Wainthropp Investigates' series starring Patricia Routledge featured the East Lancs Railway. IIRC it also involved clocks and checking it looks as if it was called 'How Time Flies' from series 3. Again IIRC, Tenniel Evans (best known for his role(s) in 'The Navy Lark') plays a TTI
