Well, the Scots' smoke deflectors were reckoned to be pretty useless anyway, but that certainly won't improve things.

If you want mainline steam. I think its a small price to pay. I should imagine a certain someone just down the road from me is choking into his G&T! Tough luck Mr Ward!

    Indeed, hence my comment..........

The sooner that thing gets its arse to Southall, the better - though where it'll be run in, is up for debate.......... for which, I believe the MHR can be ruled out.......... :(

Gwsr is nice and flat; perhaps that nice Mr Hosking will hook us up to the mainline to get it here... :D what's that nurse, time for my medicine again...

I know what you meant Dave but there are those amongst us that still believe that anything that spoils the asthetics of what we have is an affront to Sir Fredrick Riddles-Maunsall. I seem to recall someone complaining that 70000 had been defaced because Mr Hosking had the cheek to not only overhaul it but fit an air pump so as many people as possible could ride behind it. Getting back on topic I'd love to see 46100 crossing Vicky Bridge with the SVR's Carmine a Cream set.

Nowt wrong with that, or 46100 - if they were still in service today (sic ) that's what they'd be carrying anyway.

One things for sure though, they're both JH's "toys" and he can do what he likes with them........... but to dual brake the Scot is, an astute move - and why not. ;)

East Lancs or SVR are nearest rail connected. Although the Super D and 61994 went to the Churnet Valley via low loader.

How close to Crewe is the railway Pete Waterman moved his stock to? Can't remember the name of it. I didn't think it was that far, but may be wrong.

As far as air braking goes, it's not the worst, the smoke deflector makes it less obvious, I'd give 5029's the award for most out of place looking.

I wonder where 60532's will go? Will RSGLT borrow a few ideas from 60163? Idle speculation I know but this wouldnt be an NP thread without it!
