    went for a visit to Leeds in the 1980’s i think. I have lost the info on the photos
    and found to my surprise 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley waiting to leave on a railtour (No RTT then)
    remember this part of Leeds station?
    2 past East Coast motive power, A4 & HST pass at Leeds

    Six Bells gives Trans Pennine Pullman dates with 4498 at Leeds on 7th November 1981 and 26th September 1981 and also just a Pennine Pullman on 9th October 1982 ...maybe someone who was there can narrow it down .

    Thanks, I know that was the problem I had, I had seen these on Six bells but with me losing the photo info I was stumped

    On 7th November 1981 the 'Trans Pennine Pullman' was worked from Carnforth to Leeds by K1 2005, and from Leeds to Northwich by 850 'Lord Nelson'.
    On 26th September 1981 4498 worked the TPP from Carnforth to Leeds where 5305 took over for the run to Northwich.
    In the photos 4498 looks to be facing Carnforth so may have turned to work back engine and coach as no other stock can be seen.

    4498 is facing west with the large building on it's right, 5305, i would say is facing east, with building on its left
