In my opinion it would be nice to see photters try some new shots we are getting same old same old
Apart from Ian Cawthornes Petteril bridge we have seen them all before
I will not be going over to phott in the present climate but would love to see something different from the guys who go there regardless:Morewaitingisrequired:

Totally agree Henry. One of the reasons I stopped lineside photography a few years back was that I was just getting very similar shots and for some reason I wasn't prepared to put the extra effort in to get a decent variety. Maybe just getting too tired from long days and lots of driving.

When I look back at my relatively few 1960s photos I get a bit annoyed I did too many 3/4 front view shots out in the country. Oh to have done more that captured the railway and road infrastructure etc a bit more. And shots like the crew hard at work servicing the locos at water stops.

I love this LN shot at Southampton which did move away from 3/4 front view out in the country. But I was trying to photo just the loco, and missed out on getting the full signal gantry and the crew on top of the tender in full. And I'm sure I could have positioned the ship(s) better.

I know it's a lot harder these days as the infrastructure is much reduced in many places. But there lies the challenge!

Incidentally I have learned a bit from my mistakes of the past and am getting an incredible variety of Short-eared Owl photos.

Interesting that the returning Fellsman was 16E into Clitheroe but departed RT. The Clitheroe to Man Vic is currently running as a bus whilst NR double the track through Darwen. There is an odd train running via the Todmorden curve but not at this time so the line should have been clear. Just WCRC running to time, or convinced that they wouldn't get through Blackburn any earlier?
45231 made a fine sight (and sound) topping Wilpshire bank with ease and later hurrying the train through Cherry Tree.

RTT showing it cancelled between Preston and Lancaster due to "a problem with the on board safety systems".
