Might have rectified the fault before leaving. Good old hammer job?

It didn't seem to be one of its better climbs. The middle cylinder draincock was blowing so it's not always easy to hear how even the exhaust beat was. I saw it again at Cherry Tree where it had dropped time from Blackburn and was slower and not working as hard as the usual Fellsman. SGT's video shows that the dart was loose on the climb to Aisgill and apart from the blowing draincock the loco appeared to be running well - so a bit of a conundrum.

Thank you kind sir. A bit of sun, a great loco plus top notch scenery tick most of the boxes.

Loose smokebox dart = leaking air in through smokebox door = less draught through fire perhaps?

So it was a problem over Ais Gill. The loco then stops for water at Hellifield and continues over Wilpshire with the same problem.

I presume it was not a repairable fault otherwise, whatever happened to the routine check of a loco at stops?

    Just asking.

If you look closely at the pair of handles on the Ais Gill footage, it is obvious the screwed locking handle is not there, chances are it set off with one ? it would appear its dropped off !!!

And unfortunately for someone, its already swinging on the Gregson lane footage from Chris and, I can still only see ONE handle, surely it can't have been like this from the FTR exam???

46115 again today. Seems to be the regular loco for the Fellsman now.

A busy 10 minutes at Hoghton, WC's Southport to Edinburgh, followed by the service train, followed by the Fellsman. SG sounding well and RT.
