Happy memories indeed. An early morning trundle down to Alton from Woking and the STEAM ALL THE WAY! The combination of a good variety of destinations and brilliant on board staff, made for a fantastic day out. The last one I did, from memory, was the Bryan Dudley Ward memorial special from to and from Bristol when his ashes were placed in the firebox on the climb of Upper Scudamore accompanied by a mournful whistle from 73096.
I really do miss the Daylight Railtour days!

    Confused, I am.

70000 in steam at Southall prep bay last night. No sign of No 9.
70000 due to go to Bristol LE today, according to UKSteam.
Despite above, nothing on RTT for LE moves today from Southall in a direct search.

    What is actually going on?

Unfortunatly running the railtours had a knock on effect to the general running of the railway, hense why the decision to abandon running their own tours,
but they did give some very good destinations, not to mension some very good performances, from 73096,
my only regret was that 31625 didnt get more work, a U class to Reading, going on to Didcot , now that would have been a good one.
now, back on the subject , of the royal Duchy, are their further tours planned, and what is the likily motive power? and lets hope that the TOC, arranges to have the Diesel sent behind the tour to be able to provide assistance from Plymouth if needed.

No 9 is coming down to Bristol tomorrow, leave Southall about 13.15 arrive Bristol 16.23. there is one more Duchy this year in Sept suppose to be 70000, as far as I know that's it for this year I'm afraid. Some got cancelled either because of low bookings or the steam fire ban last month, the one a couple of weeks ago was fully booked with not a seat left.

If you're online Maureen, is the lack of a diesel movement back in to P2 Bay at Temple Meads in the morning just an omission on RTT?

Ray says he is not expecting a diesel with Sunday's train, he is bringing No.9 down with the stock and a diesel tomorrow on the path that is already activated.

So if No.9 is going down to Brizzle tomorrow, why did the Brit go down today as well?
