You could try by phone, or if you're in the area before the weekend before, from a booking office and they should give you the pre-book discount.

UK Steam has a provisional move for 70000 from Bristol to Kidderminster on the 15th.

Right, the public timetable should be up monday/tuesday from what I've heard, while working timetables are at the printers.

No timetable yet (still early I suppose)
In case people hadn't noticed, Thursday's lineup appears to 46100, 70000 and 34027 are on the service trains, 4566 is on the Taster FE and 46521 is on the goods train.

Sounds like I'll be making my way over a little earlier than originally planned then.... Weather permitting of course! :)

Thanks for the heads up ! Although 46100 will be a popular sight, when only 1 day is available it helps to know a basic allocation of locos in order to gauge the best day to attend; hopefully a fuller timetable can be posted in advance so that necessary arrangements can be made (and brownie points earned !!).

Afraid it's looking like just a Sunday daytime visit for me this year instead of the usual overnight antics :( , commandeered for work on Friday and for some rather odd reason,VT picked that Saturday of all of them to reschedule 5043 round the Cumbrian Coast, damn you real life getting in the way of my steam chasing ways!, am toying with the idea of a move straight off 5043 in Brum to Kidder, but you can bet NR issue timings that will be too late to consider that option.

The timetable for this gala is very disappointing. Looks like 4 main sets and an bi-hourly auto shuttle to me, it's not even as frequent as a Timetable C. Saturday is going to be well busy with capacity being well reduced. Seems heritage railways take their paying customers for granted these days (including volunteers who think it's good to have a go at people who keep their hobby going on public forums/websites when they say they do not like something.... would you do that if the company employed you? I think not.)

I have to agree with you with respect to the timetable.
I think I'll bring a book for inbetween trains.

Yes and another one here who agrees. What happened to the imaginative timetables of old such as at the 2008 ASG? Far more adventurous and there were never any major delays around that period. This timetable has taken away the variety and intensiveness away - something that was a major draw for many.

I was going to go on the Thursday, having read the timetable, I can't see the point now.

Cant believe the timetable. The locals and the overnights are/were what makes this event so enjoyable. This timetable looks a bit boring at first read. Hampton Loade and Highley always had something going on so was good places to spend some time when the trains got too busy. I know its a steam Gala but could not the DMU do short runs at one or other of the ends to increase interest and capacity of locals with out taking too long on reverals at terminals. Lots of people love a heritage DMU and the view from the front goes down well with customers. For those die hard steam lovers the die has already been cast as a 08 is often seen shunting the coaching stock at Kidderminster during previous galas.

Agree - might as well go this Saturday for Timetable C and get a members discount fare into the bargain.

You do realise that members fares are available for the gala as well?

I admit to being a critic of the usual steam gala timetable, and was quite happy when someone said the short workings has been removed, but I thought it meant it was going to be the diesel gala timetable. Sadly not! There's still journeys that take 90 minutes end to end. The diesel gala has trains every 48 minutes from each end throughout the day, and plenty of shuttles using two sets between Kiddy and Bewdley as well. The steam gala timetable is pretty poor by comparison.
